Brownister Hen

The artist Brownister Hen describes himself as a master of process. Through years of working with material process and production across the world Hen has developed a superior understanding of material manipulation and process.

Hen uses a multitude of processes to produce unique editions. Beginning with drawing, he then uses computer manipulation, laser cutting, mould making, resin pouring, grinding, sanding and finally polishing to produce the finished work. Hen investigates the idea of the multiple as a motif, but then fills the rest with coincidence and abstraction. Brownister Hen was born in the small village of Takuri on Amami Island, Japan, in 1972.

Hen prides himself on a Zen of making, the process that he has developed produces no waste what so ever, and through this he becomes completely creative and one with his work.
